Voter Registration Search Microservice
For the November General Election, the Office of Elections wanted a backup to the Virginia Department of Elections portal, which had gone down during previous elections. We built a small Flask app and deployed it to AWS Lambda and API Gateway with Zappa. The state site stayed up this time and our microservice wasn’t needed, but it was a good proof of concept. Bikeshare Trip History Parser Updated for 2016Q3
We’ve updated the Capital Bikeshare trip history parser to support the 2016Q3 file. This is the first time the ZIP file has contained two CSV files. They use the 2016Q1 format. The merged file (245 MB ZIP, expands to 1.6 GB CSV) has also been updated.
Updated: Building Energy Usage
The Building Energy Usage dataset has been updated with annual data up to 2015. Details of energy intensity and carbon footprint calculations are also available. For more details and information about County buildings, see the Building Energy Report Cards.
EnergyCAP users may be interested in the Python script used to produce the dataset.
Trails Dataset Removed
The Trails dataset has been removed due to outdated and incorrect data. Updated information may be found in the Bike Routes dataset.
New Dataset: Utility Accounts and Usage
This dataset contains annual community electricity and natural gas use and number of accounts, by sector, provided by the utilities. The data was aggregated by the Arlington Initiative to Rethink Energy (AIRE).
